Leah Solari Jones is an Italian-American writer of both poetry and fiction. Originally from Durham, North Carolina, she has spent the last ten years moving around the East Coast as a military spouse with her husband and three children. Her first novel, Diving Horses, that she self-published, won the 2019 Editor's Choice award with ACHI Magazine and she was nominated for Author of the Year.
In 2025, Leah released The Summer We Learned to Fly. Leah is also the author of many works of poetry and short fiction. Recent works of hers can be found in The New York Times, Minerva Rising Press, and Ghost City Press. She has a bachelor's in history and an MPA. She often gives talks to universities and youth programs as a motivational speaker about the importance of the arts.
Her community work is aimed at the advancement of women writers who were unable to attend college, minority voices, military spouses, and women who do not have the resources to begin a writing career. She plans on growing her non-profit Cooper & Lepanto in order to help women writers.
